DIT and video operator for Czech Television and on nearly 100 international productions, and years as a production manager. I build mmMover with AI assistance and test it on real shoots.
How it works
- 1
Copy
The card is read once and written to all your drives at the same time.
- 2
Verify
Every file is read back from every drive and compared. Green means the card is safe to format.
- 3
Proxies & report
Proxies with the camera LUT and timecode, a PDF report with thumbnails, ASC MHL for post.

Card 597 MB/s · Drive 1 608 MB/s · Drive 2 607 MB/s · 6:03 left
Bottleneck: drive 1, Samsung T7 on USB controller XHC3
Why DITs use it
- Free. No licence, no subscription, no account.
- Verified from disk. Not from the system cache, so a green card really is on the drive.
- Standard ASC MHL. Post can check it in Silverstack, ShotPut or the ascmhl tool.
- Proxies with the right LUT. Picked from the clip metadata, ready to relink.
- Open to read. The full source is on GitHub, so you can check what it does with your footage.
Moving from ShotPut Pro, OffShoot or Silverstack? See how mmMover compares. New to offloading? Read the DIT checklist or the FAQ. On a Windows cart? See DIT software for Windows and camera formats.
Take it to your next shoot.
Free for Windows and Mac. Unzip, run, put a card in the reader.

Tech specs, formats and decoders
Tech specs
Everything in the Windows build today, grouped the way you would check it before trusting a tool with a card.
Platform
- Windows
- Windows 10 and 11, x64. Available now.
- macOS
- Mac 0.2.0 is in testing, not released. Coming soon
- Installation
- Portable zip. No installer, no account.
- Footage
- Stays on your drives. Nothing is uploaded.
- Language
- App, reports and manual in English since 0.9.0. Checksums, ASC MHL and clip lists read the same in any language.
Copy engine
- Card reads
- One. The card is read in large blocks; each block goes to every destination and into the checksum at the same time.
- Speed
- Set by the slowest link, so a second drive costs no extra time.
- Writes
- WRITE_THROUGH. Unfinished files are named
.name.offload-partuntil complete. - Card access
- Read only. Nothing is ever written to the card.
- Free space
- Checked exactly on every drive before the start.
- Same card twice
- Gets its own folder, for example
A001_2. Nothing is overwritten.
Verification
- Method
- Every file is read back from every drive with the OS cache bypassed and compared with the checksum taken from the card.
- Safe to eject
- Every file is on every drive. The card can go back to the camera.
- Safe to format
- Every file on every drive is verified. Shown with a sound and a notification.
- Verify-in-Proxy
- Since 0.6.0. The primary drive is verified by the read that renders the proxies, the other drives in the background. Read twice instead of three times: about 17 min saved per 1 TB at 1 GB/s.
- Content check
- The decoder finds damaged frames; the report shows each with timecode and thumbnail.
- Verify backup
- Re-checks any backup later, against its ASC MHL or hash list.
Checksums & ASC MHL
- Algorithms
- xxHash64 or XXH128, computed while copying. Optional MD5.
- Hash lists
- Written to every destination, with every file and its checksum.
- ASC MHL
- v2, in an
ascmhlfolder next to the card. Generations 0001, 0002 and on, plus the chain file. - Readable by
- The
ascmhltool, Silverstack and ShotPut Pro.
Hardware
- Port test
- Tests the USB ports and recommends where to plug the reader and each drive.
- During the copy
- Shows the connection chain, how busy each link is and the bottleneck, for example “bottleneck: D1”.
- Timeouts
- A stuck drive or decoder never freezes the job.
Reports & clip lists
- Card report
- HTML, PDF, JSON and TXT: summary, destinations, speeds, 3 thumbnails per clip, camera metadata, timecode, lens, audio, size, and every file with its checksum.
- Day report
- Across all cards of a day, in the date folder’s
_REPORT. - Summary report
- From selected backups (since 0.8.0).
- Clip lists
- CSV and Avid ALE, per card and per day.
- Local copy
- Every report is also kept on the computer, in
Documents\Offload reports.
Proxies
- When
- From the primary drive, in the same read that verifies it.
- Codecs
- H.264 or HEVC on the GPU (NVENC, QSV, AMF), or ProRes Proxy and LT.
- Burn-in
- Clip name and timecode. Frame lines optional.
- Relinking
- Timecode track and reel name for Resolve, Premiere and Avid.
LUTs
- 11 built in, Log to Rec.709, picked from clip metadata
- ARRI LogC3 and LogC4; Sony S-Log3 with S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine; Blackmagic Film Gen 5; RED Log3G10; Canon C-Log2 and C-Log3; Panasonic V-Log; DJI D-Log; Fujifilm F-Log2.
- Custom rules
- By camera or by serial number.
- Your own
- Any
.cubefile.
Recovery & card history
- Crash or power cut
- The copy resumes where it stopped, from a block manifest (
offload-manifest.jsonl). Pause and Resume any time. - Copy again
- Rewrites only the files that did not match, not the whole card.
- Card history
- Recognises a card that is already backed up.
- Append
- Copies only the new clips, as a new ASC MHL generation.
Workflow
- Projects and presets
- Save a setup once and reuse it on the next card or the next job.
- Notifications
- In Windows and on your phone through ntfy.
- Command line
copy,verify,bench,ports,luts,append,day-report.
Software & licence
- Stable
- latest stable build, Czech interface.
- Testing
- 0.9.0, 10 Oct 2026, fully in English.
- Tests
- More than 1,900 automated tests on the Windows build.
