A free alternative to Silverstack
I am a DIT, and mmMover is the offload tool I build and use on set. If you use Silverstack or are looking at it, here is an honest look at where mmMover fits.
What Silverstack is great at
Silverstack from Pomfort is an on-set media management suite (offload, backup, metadata, QC and reporting), and its Lab edition adds full transcoding and dailies. Pomfort calls it the industry standard for media management on set.
Where mmMover fits
mmMover is not a full media library. It is for the many shoots that need a fast, verified offload, a clear report, ASC MHL and proxies with LUTs: free, and on Windows as well as Mac.

Switching
mmMover writes standard ASC MHL and keeps the card's folder structure, so backups made in either tool stay verifiable in the other. Try it on your next card next to your current workflow; it takes nothing away.
